Throughout the years Ford has concentrated on building its luxury brands and placed Lincoln on the back burner with Land Rover, Jaguar, and Volvo all part of the Ford empire. With the economic times Ford has sold off many of these losing causes and now Lincoln is left to finally receive some much needed attention. The auto maker has finally infused some new life into its current lineup with additional power for the MKT Launch CReader VIII, a complete redesign for the classic Taurus sedan and a new hybrid with excellent mileage; the Fusion. Let's take a closer look at these cars and see what Ford has been up to.

Lincoln MKT

The Ford Flex platform is the base on which the MKT is built. However, the Lincoln MKT has an all original look that is accentuated by a massive front grille. The seats are crafted out of rich leather and accompanied by authentic walnut trim and the huge sunroof is a gorgeous sight to behold.

A brand new Eco Boost engine powers up the MKT. This engine sports twin-turbos, six cylinders, and direct injection. This results in a total output of a 355 hp and 350 lb-ft. of torque. You can have a front wheel drive train, but all wheel drive is a much better option.

When it comes to ride quality, the MKT offers one that is smooth and luxurious instead of sporty. The eco boost engine gets a respectable 17 city mpg and 23 highway mpg. Not shabby at all for such a powerful vehicle. The cost for a fully loaded Lincoln MKT is right at $50k.

Ford Taurus

Around ten years ago the Taurus was one of the most popular sedans around. There were literally millions of them riding around the cities of the United States. However, the older models weren't too innovative or cutting edge. Many ended up being used as cabs or as fleet vehicles. But the Taurus did its job and did it well. After a short stint as the Ford 500 launch x431 pro, the Taurus is back and better than ever before. The new model is completely made over and much better than ever before. The roofline is lower and the belt line has been raised, which seems to follow the other recently redesigned American muscle cars.

You can select from three trims, ranging from the base SE model which starts at $26k to the top of the line SHO model which costs approximately $38k. The base model vehicle has a 3.5 liter V6 engine which puts out 263 hp and 249 lb-ft. of torque through a front wheel drive. The SHO model is a much better choice with has the latest advanced technology and features from ford.

The eco boost engine fuels the SHO model which has a twin turbo six cylinder engine. This power plant makes huge numbers and can literally breathe fire. Putting down 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque through an all wheel drive system can produce some great acceleration times; it reaches 60mph in just 4.8 seconds and reaches one fourth of a mile at a mere 13.3 seconds.

Ford Fusion Hybrid

The Fusion Hybrid has made a big splash in the automotive market. This fuel sipper rocked the world with its great fuel economy figures. How does 41 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway grab you? The interior is constructed out of recycled materials and an eco gauge provides you with instant feedback in terms of your driving habits. The base cost of the Fusion is around the $28k mark. The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine has an electric motor that combines to make 191 hp and 136 lb-ft. of torque.
